September 19, 2011 - Jared is a Rising Star because he received the Leadership award from St. Paul for the 2010-2011 school year. He is a member of the quick recall team, he has participated in the Governor's Cup, and he won the St. Paul spelling bee for 2010-2011 year. Jared has a current GPA of 3.5, and he has been on the honor roll at St. Paul for 7 straight years. He has excelled in sports at both St. Paul and Notre Dame, and he was captain on a city runner up basketball team in 2009. In addition, at Notre Dame Academy, Jared has been the starting quarterback and safety for the 7 and 8th grade team for the past two seasons.
Ken Roberts, we appreciate all you do for our Sports program and St. Paul Community. This is truly a testimonial of the good things that occur in our sports and in our school.
A great article about our laptop program! This is the only program of its kind in any Catholic or public school in Jefferson County.

Live Updates of Reading Activity of St. Paul Students
Congratulations to our 8th Grade Algebra Students
The 8th Graders took an Algebra proficiency test to measure if they are ready to take courses above Algebra I in high school. The cut score average on the test was 639. Out of the 15 students heading to Catholic high schools, 12 students scored above the average. That is 80% of them that are ready to move beyond Algebra I from the St. Paul 8th grade.
Out of the 21 8th graders that took the test, 16 scored above the average and that is 76%. The high mastery score was 713 and one student, David Zou, scored a 741 on the test, which is close to a perfect score.
Mr. Streble says, "I could not be prouder of these students and their accomplishments. Not only are the academically gifted, they are wonderful people as well."
St. Paul is proud of all the graduates who graduated from area high schools in 2011.
Many of these students received awards and recognitions we are not aware of. We are aware of the students and their accomplishments at Holy Cross.

Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds graduated from Assumption High School. She Graduated with Distinction for being in the top 5% of her class of 199 students. Sarah had a 4.0 GPA and also received the Commonwealth Diploma for successfully completing at least 4 AP classes in particular subjects. She will be attending Murray State University in the fall. St. Paul 10th Highest School in Raising Money for Pennies for Patients
As of May 3rd, 2011, St. Paul was the 10th highest school in raising money for this organization this year. There were 323 schools who participated and together over $300,000 was raised.
This is a tremendous accomplish and I want to applaud the parents, faculty, students and friends of St. Paul for this wonderful accomplishment.
Sheila Gustufson will here on Monday May 16th at 7:00 PM at our PTA meeting to present us with a special plaque to commemorate our success.
Please make plans to attend. This is also our time to showcase the accomplishments of our Pre-K with a special ceremony. It is something you want to see.
Elizabeth Greer Service Project
On Sat, Nov 27, 2010, 8th grader, Elizabeth Greer delivered socks to the St. John's Center as a service project for her Confirmation Class. Elizabeth was featured on the news programs at FOX 41, WLKY, and WHAS.

Dominic Perroni is the 2010 State Cross Country Champion.
Dominic Perroni, a graduate of St. Paul in 2006, and now a senior at Holy Cross was the 2010 State Cross Country Champion. Congratulations to Dominic for his accomplishment!
Nick Roush named Valedictorian!
Nick Roush, a 2006 graduate of St, Paul, is valedictorian of the class of 2010 of Desales High School. Congratulations Nick!
Congratulations to St. Paul Alumna Becca Hartlage
FYI... Just wanted to let St. Paul know about the recent awards Becca Hartlage, class of 2007, received just recently. She participated in Louisville's Junior Miss 2011, in late March, finishing overall as 3rd runner-up, receiving $ 19,000 in scholarships and a $100.00 cash award for being named a scholastic finalist.
Becca also was just named as a 2010 Governor's Scholar. She will be attending a 5 week program at either Murray State University, Bellarmine, or Centre College this summer to enhance her leadership skills.
We are so proud of her accomplishments!

Courtney and Christine were important members of Mercy High School State Championship Basketball Team. Mercy won the 2010 State Basketball Tournament this weekend.
Celia Baker, a 2005 graduate of St. Paul, was named valedictorian of Holy Cross High School. This is the highest honor bestowed on a graduating senior from high school.
Celia, a governor's Scholar, carried a 4.0 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was senior class President and participated on the cougar tennis team. Celia achieved a score of 34 on her ACT, with a perfect 36 in English. She was awarded scholarships from 16 colleges and universities, including St. Louis University, University of Dayton, Bellarmine University, University of Kentucky and Louisville and Georgetown College. Her father is a 1984 Bishop David graduate.
Everyone at St. Paul wishes to congratulate Celia for her academic accomplishments and let her know how proud we are of her.
Elizabeth Schuler, St. Paul Class of 2004, signed a national letter of intent with Morehead State University for volleyball. A four year stand out at Holy Cross, Elizabeth is very excited and can't wait to begin her college careeer.
Brittany Zahn, now a senior at Appalachian State, is a Southern Conference Player of the Year for volleyball and was named the the all-South Region Squad.
Emily Flora is the Grand Prize Winner in the Ancient Order of Hibernians 2007 St. Patrick's Coloring Contest.
